Teddy Meyer begins his first season at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Flagler College. Meyer comes to Flagler after serving three years as the men’s and women’s assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer at NCAA Division I member, Winthrop University of Rock Hill, S.C. He helped lead the men’s team to the 2002 Big South Conference Championship and the 2002 NCAA College Cup.
Meyer also served as the Director of Coaching for Discoveries Soccer Club. He directed a premier youth soccer club of twelve teams based in Rock Hill, S.C. Prior to Winthrop, Meyer was also the men’s assistant coach at Northwestern University, Westminster College (Pa.), and Montreat (N.C.) College.
Meyer, a Tampa native, was the goalkeeper at Flagler College from 1996-2000. He played on the 1996 Florida Sun Conference Championship team and two NAIA Region IV finalist teams in 1996 and 1999, during his career.
Meyer earned a bachelor’s of arts in sport management from Flagler College in 2000, and this past May earned his master’s of science in physical education from Winthrop University. He holds a USSF National “B” License and a NSCAA Premier GK Diploma. Meyer is married to the former Heather Trudeau, also a graduate of Flagler College, Class of 2001.
