Dave Barnett has just started his 17th season as head coach of the Flagler Saints. In 1995, Barnett became the most winning coach in the history of the program. His career record currently stands at 517-385.

Barnett’s teams have been ranked in the top 20 in the national polls four out of the last six seasons. Flagler players have also faired well professionally (See Saints Professionals). During Barnett’s tenure, two players have been drafted in the top 10 rounds and 10 others have signed with major league organizations.

Barnett is active in all facets of amateur baseball. He is a long-standing member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and serves on the NCAA National Rules Committee. Two years ago, he was elected baseball chairman of Region XIV. He also works numerous camps and clinics throughout the state and is the Director of the First City Baseball Camp.

As Flagler's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Barnett oversees Flagler’s 12 Intercollegiate sports programs. He serves as President of the Florida Sun Conference and is also active locally serving as a Board Member for St. Augustine Little League.

A 1975 graduate of Eustis High School, Barnett received his Associate of Arts from Seminole Community College in 1977, a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Flagler College in 1983 and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Iowa in 1985.

Barnett resides in St. Augustine with his wife, Tina, and their two children, Chelsi and Tyler.

• Played in 1978 - College World Series - University of North Carolina- Finished 3rd in nation. Named All-South Region Centerfielder.
• 1978-79 - Signed professional contract with Montreal Expos - Played in Jamestown, N.Y. and Calgary, Canada.
• 1980-83 - Played Shortstop with the World Famous “King & His Court” 4-Man Fastpitch Softball Team, featuring Eddie Feigner.
