The
psychology
major takes
a traditional,
theoretical
approach,
preparing
students
for graduate
work in psychology.
Students
gain skills
in understanding
human behavior
and in writing
and familiarity
with classic
studies in
psychology.
The orientation
in human
services
is intended
for those
interested
in careers
in counseling,
guidance
and testing,
or those
who want
to do graduate
work in related
fields. Internships
are available,
and practicum
experience
is gained
through work
with a human
service agency
in the St.
Augustine
area. Courses
in counseling,
sports psychology,
and somatopsychology
are also
offered.
The major
requires
students
to complete
an exit exam.
