Pre-Professional Programs: Pre-Law

The Pre-Law Program prepares qualified students for law school through a rigorous program of course work; informed advising specific to gaining admittance to law school; LSAT preparation courses; field trips, forums, and internships; and WESTLAW, a computer-assisted legal research service available-on-line in the Proctor Library. The program is designed to build an understanding of the institutions that develop law and to enhance the student's ability to read for a clear understanding of content and relationships, to reason logically and think critically, to solve problems given specific factual situations, to write and speak with clarity, precision, and style. Students complete internships at law firms, public defenders' offices, and other selected private and public legal agencies.
