The Flagler College Department of Theatre Arts believes in educating the full theatre artist. Offering a BA in Theatre Arts, students are exposed to all areas of theatre, including performance (acting, dance, singing), design (scenic, lighting, make-up & costume), theatre technology, directing, literature, and history.
Because of the wide range of skills developed, graduates are well prepared for successful careers in a broad range of fields in and out of the Theatre and Entertainment industry.
With 2-3 main stage productions a year, and 10-20 student directed plays, the Theatre Arts student has many opportunities to be actively involved in theatre production. These performances are presented in several venues, including the newly renovated 800-seat, Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, the 100-seat Gamache-Koger theatre in Ringhaver Student Center, and 48-seat Rahner-Gibbs Second Stage in Lewis Auditorium.
Throughout the year, students are found acting, directing, designing, and working in the scene and costume shops on departmental projects. Opportunities for professional experience are also available through working with the technical director on events and outside organizations utilizing the facility.
