Flagler College's Department of English offers a comprehensive curriculum in literature, composition, and creative writing.

Students majoring in English can take courses ranging from Chaucer to Contemporary American Literature and from Mythology to Film Literature, while students in the creative writing minor can take courses in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, screenwriting, and playwriting.  English majors develop strong written and oral communication skills as well as skills in critical thinking and analysis.  Our students pursue careers in teaching, journalism, editing, professional writing, and are prepared for graduate study.
