Professional Profile:

Professor Pickett earned his Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of Pittsburgh, where his thesis focused on rhetorical movements in recombinant DNA debates. He also earned an M.A. in Rhetoric and Communication and a B.A. in Speech and English from the University of Pittsburgh. He currently sits on the editorial board of the Florida Communications Journal. His areas of special interest include philosophy of communication, public argument and applied communication.
