2017 Schedule of Events 

Business Week at Flagler College is a multi-day event designed to give Flagler students real-world experience in an environment where business professionals are able to teach and give back.

  • Monday, Feb. 20th

    Lunch and Learn

    Location: Markland House 
    Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

    Want to learn how to boost your resume and use LinkedIn more effectively? Join us for this event sponsored by the College's Career Development Center and learn how you can effectively market your skills to future employers. 

    Saints Panel 

    Location: Flagler Room  
    Time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. 

    Meet members of the Flagler College Business Advisory Board for a business panel and share what made them successful business leaders. During this panel you will have to opportunity to ask questions about the skill sets needed to succeed in their various industries. 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 21st

    Pitch Yourself

    Location: Kenan 300  
    Time: 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

    Learn how to market yourself to employers by attending this workshop. You will practice interviewing, networking with professionals and gain tips on applying for jobs. 

    Etiquette Dinner 

    Location: Solarium
    Time: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. 

    Ever wonder whether you should order spaghetti at a business dinner? Join us for dinner in a professional business setting where you can learn the dos and don'ts of eating with a client, colleague or boss.

  • Wednesday, Feb. 22nd

    Saints Showcase

    Location: Bailey Lounge  
    Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

    Show off your ideas, inventions, and business plans. This will be the first event of a two-step process aimed at finding the best business idea on campus. Host a table in the Bailey Lounge to display your business idea and any visuals used to sell your concept. Visitors of the showcase will be asked to cast their vote after viewing all tables, and the top 5 winners will be asked to move on to the Lion's Cage on Thursday, February 23.

    Saints Retreat 

    Location: Markland House 
    Time: 6 p.m. 

    A networking event, the Saints Retreat is your opportunity to meet and mingle with alumni, faculty, and potential employers. Business faculty members will give feedback on what you can improve on in a business mocktail setting. 

  • Thursday, Feb. 23rd

    Coffee Break 

    Location: Ringhaver Student Center 
    Time: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 

    This event, hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations, connects students with faculty, staff, alumni every Wednesday during the academic year. Free Kookaburra coffee, donuts and fruit are provided. 

    Lion's Cage 

    Location: Flagler Room 
    Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

    The Lion's Cage is similar to the popular television show, "The Shark Tank." The top 5 winners from the Saints Showcase will be asked to pitch their idea with a 5 minute visual presentation. After each presentation, judges will have the opportunity to ask questions. Winners will receive cash that can be used towards their business ideas. 

    • 1st place- $1,000 
    • 2nd place- $500 
    • 3rd place- $250 

    Keynote Speaker Dinner

    Location: Solarium 
    Time: 6 p.m.

    The Business Advisory Board and the Department of Business Administration will host keynote speaker, Craig Dickman, CEO of Breakthrough Fuel. You will have the opportunity to make connections with members of the Flagler College Board of Trustees, Business Advisory Board, and faculty. The winners of the Lion's Cage will be announced at this event.
