Computer
Literacy
These
computer-related
courses
are
offered
through
the
Flagler
College
Math
Department.
All
students
must
demonstrate
a sufficient
level
of
skill
and
knowledge
in
the
basic
use
of
computers.
This
requirement
may
be
satisfied
by
earning
a passing
grade
in
CSC
120
or
by
satisfying
departmental
requirements
in
the
student's
major
to
demonstrate
computer
literacy.
Students
who
do
not
feel
at
ease
with
their
computer
skills
should
consider
taking
CSC
100
a semester
prior
to
taking
CSC
120.
CSC
120
is
fast-paced
and
covers
a wide
variety
of
topics
but
will
not
cover
the
fundamentals
CSC
100
provides
that
students
need
to
get
started.

Computer
Fundamentals
(1)
This
one-hour
course
is designed for students
with little or no experience
using computers and
introduces the students
to the fundamental
concepts and operations
necessary to use personal
computers. Topics include:
computer terminology,
identification of computer
components, formatting
disks, copying files
from disk to disk,
creating & renaming
folders, email and
introduction to the
Windows and Macintosh
operating systems. A
lab fee is required
for this course.

Prerequisite:
Basic computer skills as
taught in CSC 100. THis course
satisfies Flagler College's
computer literacy requirement. This
course is an exploration
of productivity software
with a special emphasis on
computer literacy. Topics
to be covered include computer
concepts, file management,
email, electronic research,
spreadsheets, databases,
and electronic presentations. A
lab fee is required for this
course.

of electronic communications
with a special emphasis on
computer literacy. Topics
to be covered include computer
upkeep and maintenance, file
management, desktop publishing,
Internet, web page development,
HTML, and digital imagery. A
lab fee is required for this
course.

Applications
in
Business
Prerequisite:
CSC 120 or CSC 121 and General
Education mathematics. This
course focuses on skills
needed by a variety of business
applications software programs
through hands-on computer
lab work. There is specific
emphasis on spreadsheets
for business related funcdions
such as financial calculations,
charting and integration
of files between software
packages. A
lab fee is required for this
course.
