Flagler
College's
Department
of
English
offers
a comprehensive
curriculum
in
literature,
composition
and
creative
writing
which
allows
students
to
pursue
a vast
array
of
areas
of
interest.
Students
majoring
in
English
can
take
courses
ranging
from Chaucer to Modern
Poetry,
from Grammar
Theory to Fiction
into
Film while
students
in
the
creative
writing
minor
take
courses
in
poetry,
fiction
and
non-fiction,
and
have
the
opportunity
to
present
their
creative
work
to
other
practicing
writers
both
at
Flagler
and
in
the
community
at
large
via
a Portfolio
Workshop.
Every
student
graduating
as
an
English
major
will
take
courses
that
develop
skills
in
critical
thinking
and
critical
analysis,
written
and
oral
communication,
and
research;
as
such,
our
students
are
able
to
continue
their
education
in
graduate
school
or
embark
on
various
career
paths,
including
editing,
journalism,
professional
writing,
teaching,
and
others.
