Young
Life is a non-denominational Christian outreach
ministry for youth. Young Life’s mission is to
help middle and high school adolescents develop and foster
a relationship with Christ through weekly club meetings,
camps, special groups and personal contact with other
youth and Young Life leaders. It is a relational ministry.
Young Life has been reaching out to youth for more than
half a century and now operates throughout the United
States and in more than 20 foreign countries. Young people
of all races and religions are welcome in the Young Life
community.
Young Life in St. Augustine just celebrated its 35th
anniversary this year. Many of the Flagler students in
the Young Life/Youth
Ministry Program serve as volunteers
in the local Young Life Ministry. Young Life has a full-time
area director, Justin Forbes, and a coordinator, Martha
Shinn. Liz Steen is Urban Staff. Les Comee works in the
local area, as well as at the Regional level for Young
Life. The relationship between Flagler College and Young
Life has benefited the students as well as the youth
of the St. Augustine community over the years.
