The Parent Partners Thank You Luncheon

Parent Partners Program

The Flagler College Parent Partners Program was established in the 2001 to be a liaison between the College, parents and students while providing an outlet for sharing and discussing ideas. Parent volunteers are involved in their son's or daughter's education at Flagler College while helping other parents adjust to the college experience. Parent Partners host activities, fundraise, enhance relationships, provide contacts for out-of-town parents and stimulate involvement in Parents' Weekend.

While keeping apprised about Flagler College's current activities, Parent Partners coordinate and participate in such projects as parent phonathons, parents' receptions, and "welcome" calls to parents of incoming students, as well as hosting orientation tables at check-in. Having parents work together continues to assist in the success of Flagler College.

Volunteers needed!

We are preparing for the return of the students in the fall, and there are several volunteer opportunities available.

First, Welcome Calls! These phone calls are made by parents of current students to parents of incoming students welcoming them to the Flagler College family. A list is provided to you that details the name of the student, the city they live in, the high school, and phone number. You also receive a phone card to assist with your expenses. Additionally, there is a script (or points of interest) that highlight information relating to the Registrar, Student Services, and the Business Offices. I try and match people from similar regions, but also try and cover as much of the country as possible. If you have a specific request, please let me know.

Second, New Student Orientation! I am looking for volunteers to “meet and greet” families on check-in day. Do you remember what it was like to bring your son or daughter to Flagler College? Perhaps you can lend a helpful hand by answering questions on move-in day. It is Saturday, August 28, 2004. Generally, the Parent Partners provide refreshments to as well as share information about the program with other interested parents.

Third, the President's Reception during Parents’ Weekend! The Parent Partners will be hosting a reception for parents. It will be held in historic Markland House, and we are looking for hosts and hostesses.

Please contact me, Nicole Pece, if you can help with any of these activities. I look forward to working with you.

Parents who would like more information about the Parent Partners Program can call (904) 819-6240 or send an email** to parentpartners@flagler.edu (**but please delete the "nospam_" wording from the email address before you click Send.)
