46 Years of Making An Impact

Dr. Abare IllustrationThis coming June, after serving Flagler College for more than forty years — the last 16 of those as President, Dr. William T. Abare, Jr. will retire.

Since he arrived in 1971 as Dean of Admissions, Dr. Abare accepted the challenge, built the enrollment and undertaken a role in every  major challenge confronted by the College since that time, from the first accreditation to every subsequent accreditation reaffirmation.  Under Dr. Abare’s presidential leadership, the campus has grown significantly, and the College has been committed to preservation of its historic buildings and facilities.  The Faculty Senate was established, the number of full-time faculty was increased, and new majors such as Coastal Environmental Science, Finance,  and Hospitality and Tourism Management were introduced under his reign.

President Abare’s retirement is an opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends to consider honoring him, through a gift to the College, for dedicating his professional career to Flagler College.

Gift in Honor of Dr. William T. Abare, Jr.
