Julie Sellers: Faculty and Staff
Flagler College faculty visiting the Office of Academic Affairs will now be greeted by the familiar face of Julie Sellers — once the office’s faculty secretary and now the new administrative assistant to Dean Alan Woolfolk, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty.
“I feel like it’s a perfect fit for me,” she said. “I am here to serve the department and faculty. That’s what I love. My calling is in serving and supporting others.”
For the past three and a half years, Sellers, as faculty secretary, served as Faculty Senate clerk, proctored make-up exams for students and handled scheduling of adjunct instructors’ office hours, among other office-related tasks. Now she will focus on responding to general inquiries and assisting Woolfolk with any faculty-related projects.
Working in an academic support role is not new to the administrative assistant. She was an office manager at the local St. John’s Academy for 4 years and worked at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. for 3 years, from 2006 to 2010, while her husband, a local pastor, pursued his graduate degree. In the summer of 2010, they returned to St. Augustine, where they have been for more than 30 years. She is replacing former administrative assistant Alison (Hunt) Strait.
