Introducing the 2005 class of the Athletic Hall of Fame

Fred Ford
Fred Ford , '81
Fred Ford graduated from Flagler College in 1981 after an outstanding baseball career that included being named MVP three times, as well as to first team All-District 25. He played on Flagler's first baseball team to post a winning season and the Saints had na 18-game winning streak -- one of the longest in the country that year. Since graduating, Fred and his family live in Bellport, New York, where he has a successful career as a real estate appraiser and videographer.
Troy Holland
Troy Holland , '86
Troy Holland graduated from Flagler College in 1986 with a degree in art. But as a runner, Troy truly excelled. he won first place in 18 of the 22 cross country meets he participated in, and qualified for nationals in the 8,000-meter event. He holds records in the 1,500-meter, 5,000-meter, 5-mile and 10,000-meter races in District 25. To this day he is still ranked first among all Flagler 8K runners with a time of 24:53.
Tawny Kern
Tawny Kern , '89
Tawny Kern, a 1989 graduate with a degree in business administration, participated in the track and field program while at Flagler. She had a phenomenal career, qualifying for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships all three years she attended Flagler, and she placed 2nd in the nation in the 10,000 meters. She was a two-time All-American. Tawny is ranked 1st with a time of 17:08 for all-time female runners at Flagler College.
Richard PuttickRichard Puttick , '87
Richard Puttick, a 1987 grad with a degree in business administration, was a four-year member of the Flagler College Men's Soccer team. During his time at Flagler, Richard was All-District for three years, All-Sectional for four years, All-American Honorable Mention twice, a three-year captain, once an MVP and his team was District 25 champions for three years. Richard is currently a general manager for a restaurant chain. He is married and has two children.
Daniel Stewart
Daniel Stewart, '78

Stewart was a student-athlete at Flagler College where he went on to become the Athletic Director. He is currently the Dean of Student Services. He helped form the Florida Sun Conference and was selected its first commissioner in 1993, a position he still holds today. During his tenure as Athletic Director, the college won six national championships, volleyball was discontinued then resurrected, women’s soccer was added and athletic scholarships were begun.
